This classic eatery was established at its now-famous location in 1975, as 36th Street Eat & Drink; however, its genesis is across town in south St. Joseph where it was originally known as Gates Inn. Italian cuisine came to 36th Street Food & Drink in 2003, prompting the restaurant's name to be changed again, to La Dolce Vita at 36th Street. General Manager Randy K. Collins and his staff pride themselves on providing patrons with exemplary service and delicious, perfectly prepared cuisine created fresh daily from the finest ingredients.
